Getting to Sunset Beach NC

Beach, N.C. is located approximately 25 miles north of Myrtle
Beach, SC and 50 miles south of Wilmington, NC.
The nearest commercial
airports are: Myrtle Beach International and New Hanover International.

Traveling
south on I 95 (from DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia)
- Take I 40 East
to Wilmington, NC.
- From Wilmington
take 17S to Brunswick Co. Beaches (toward Shallotte, NC and Myrtle Beach,
SC).
- Go approximately
50 miles to Rt. 904 (McDonalds and Texaco Station).
- Turn left onto
Rt. 904 - go 3 miles to second traffic light.
- Turn right (this
will be Rt. 179) - go 1.5 miles to bridge.
- Cross over intracoastal
waterway onto island of Sunset Beach.
Traveling
north on I 95 (from Georgia, Florida - points south)
- Take Rt. 378E
(Turbeville, SC) to Conway, SC. (approximately 60 miles).
- In Conway, SC
- take Rt. 905E to Rt. 95 to Rt. 17.
- Rt. 17 - go north
through Little River, SC.
- Take Rt. 179 Calabash
exit (right).
- Go through Calabash
straight through 2 traffic lights.
- Continue straight
(179 continues). Go approximately 4 miles until you reach third traffic
light, which will be the junction of 904/179. Turn right.
- Go 1 mile to next
traffic light. Turn right. Go 1.5 miles to bridge.
- Cross over intracoastal
waterway onto island of Sunset Beach.
Traveling
north on Rt. 17 (from Charleston, SC - points south)
- Go through Myrtle
Beach, North Myrtle Beach, and Little River, SC. On the north side of
Little River take Rt. 179 Calabash exit (right).
- Go through Calabash
straight through two traffic lights.
- Continue straight.
Go approximately 4 miles until you reach third traffic light, which
will be the junction of 179/904. Turn right.
- Go 1 mile to next
traffic light. Turn right. Go 1.5 miles to bridge.
- Cross over intracoastal
waterway onto island of Sunset Beach.
From
Charlotte, NC (points west)
- Take Rt. 74 to
Whiteville, NC.
- In Whiteville
take Rt. 130S to Rt. 17.
- Go south on Rt.
17 to Rt. 904E (McDonalds and Texaco at Traffic light).
- Turn right - this
is Rt. 904.
- Go straight through
next traffic light, to second traffic light, approximately 3 miles.
Turn right. Go 1.5 miles to bridge.
- Cross over intracoastal
waterway onto island of Sunset Beach
